Do you serve food?
Nope, we’re a brewery and our focus is brewing beer. You’re welcome to bring food from home or order from some of Waterloo’s great restaurants like Shorty’s Smokehouse (does not deliver, but just across the alley from the brewery, 618-939-7665), Pie Hard Pizzeria (delivers, 618-939-4273), JV’s Downtown Bar & Grill (does not deliver, but 1 block north of the brewery, 939-7127), Gallagher’s Restaurant (currently closed, 939-9933), Papa Vito’s Pizza (great local pizza place that delivers, 939-5200), Imo’s Pizza (delivers, 939-9565), Pizza Hut (delivers, 939-4334), Papa John’s (delivers, 939-9600).
Are you kid-friendly?
Yep, bring ‘em with you! We have board games, free juice boxes for the kids, high chairs, and changing tables in the restrooms.
Can I have a get-together/party at Stubborn German?
Yes, we would love to have you and will make it easy for you to have a party with us! We have several options for parties. (1) We can reserve tables on the main level for your event. There is no charge to do this. (2) We rent out our private party space, The Speakeasy, which is in our basement. There is a $150 rental fee for 5 hours and if you want a dedicated bartender down there serving your group, there is a $400 bar minimum that needs to be met. Please note that we do not host children birthday parties, high school graduation parties, baby showers, or wedding showers. We’ve hosted class reunions, work get-togethers, retirement parties, college graduations, customer appreciation events, even a few weddings! Are you dog friendly?
Leashed and friendly dogs are welcome on the patio. We ask that you sit away from the main entrance walkway.
What if I prefer something other than beer?
We offer a HUGE bourbon selection, mixed drinks, wine and soft drinks.
